The Idaho Industrial Commission receives approximately 45,000 reports about workers injured on the job each year. Three dozen or more of those result in fatality. This page outlines basic information for workers injured on the job. We have outlined these basic areas:

Reporting injuries

If a work-related injury or illness results in lost work time or requires medical treatment, that injury or illness must be reported to the Idaho Industrial Commission. This is done with a First Report of Injury or Illness form.

The form can be downloaded here:

The Microsoft Word form can be filled out and emailed as an attachment to froi@iic.idaho.gov.

Benefits

You may be entitled to benefits as a result of your work-related injury or illness. Choose either of the links below for more details:

Rehabilitation

The Industrial Commission offers rehabilitation services to Idaho workers injured on the job. We have rehabilitation staff in our ten field offices and our Boise location. Rehabilitation professionals can help workers get back to work after a disabling injury or illness.

Disputed claims

There are many reasons for a dispute to arise in a claim. These disputes can sometimes center around complicated legal issues. The assistance of an attorney may be needed. Only a hundred or so claims each year require a hearing to settle disputes. Several hundred more are settled in mediation. Click the links below to learn more.

Company audits

The Industrial Commission conducts regular compliance audits of insurers and their designated in-state adjusters. The calendar is available to the public. In addition, the Commission solicits public comments in advance of Commission audits.
